Vietnam Airlines in collaboration with Airbus on 22 November 2014 performed a test flight of the new Airbus A350 XWB over the skies of Vietnam. At the event, Vietnam Airlines revealed it has placed an order for 10 of the aircraft, and will be one of the first airlines in the world to put it into operation in 2015. Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO) is also preparing its personnel and facilities to be ready to perform maintenance on the aircraft by July 2015.
