Following the successful completion of the first maintenance contract with Lufthansa Group in 2024 - under which VAECO performed maintenance check for four Airbus A350 aircraft in full compliance with the customer’s technical and operational requirements as well as the stringent standards of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) — on May 12, 2025, VAECO and Lufthansa Group officially signed a new cooperation agreement, marking the next milestone in their long-term partnership.
Under the terms of the agreement, from 2025 to 2030, VAECO will carry out scheduled C2, IL1, C1, and D1+LDG maintenance checks for Lufthansa’s Airbus A350 fleet, with the first check package expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Airbus A350 is a next-generation wide-body aircraft widely operated by major airlines around the world. Providing maintenance for this aircraft type continues to affirm VAECO’s technical capabilities and the expertise of its engineering team.
Lufthansa Airlines is one of the world’s leading airlines, a founding member of the global Star Alliance, and known for setting high standards in all areas of operations, service, and engineering. Becoming a trusted maintenance partner for Lufthansa is not only a significant commercial milestone for VAECO but also a strong testament to the credibility and quality of Vietnam’s MRO services on the international stage.
This contract is a concrete step in VAECO’s long-term development strategy, aiming to become a leading aircraft maintenance hub in Southeast Asia. Through international cooperation, VAECO will continue investing in technical infrastructure, standardizing maintenance procedures to meet global standards, and enhancing the capabilities of its staff and engineers to meet the increasing demands of international partners.
In addition to its economic and technical significance, this event is a source of great pride for Vietnam’s aviation engineering industry, as a domestic enterprise has demonstrated the capability to serve a major global customer like Lufthansa. It also serves as a powerful source of motivation for all VAECO staff and employees to continue striving, innovating, and reaching new heights in the field of aircraft maintenance.
