VAECO and Korean Air Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on MRO Collaboration at Long Thanh International Airport
In the morning of April 10, 2025, at the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company Ltd. (VAECO), a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between VAECO and Korean Air for MRO Collaboration at Long Thanh International Airport.
Representing VAECO at the signing ceremony were Mr. Trần Quốc Hoài – General Director, Mr. Đào Thiện Phan – Deputy General Director, along with representatives from specialized departments. From Korean Air, the ceremony was attended by Mr. Jongseok Yoo – Executive Vice President, Mr. Heedon Park, and other key management personnel. Notably, the event also welcomed Mr. Nguyễn Chiến Thắng – Deputy CEO of Vietnam Airlines and Chairman of VAECO’s Members’ Council, and Mr. Trần Minh Hải – Head of Engineering at Vietnam Airlines and Member of VAECO’s Members’ Council.
This MOU not only represents the mutual trust and long-term cooperation between VNA/VAECO and KE – one of Asia’s leading airlines – but also affirms VAECO’s strong capabilities and growth potential in the field of aviation maintenance. Collaboration with Korean Air will play a vital role in VAECO’s strategy to scale up services, enhance competitiveness, and gradually establish itself as a global MRO provider.
Korean Air is South Korea’s largest national carrier, established in 1969, with an extensive network spanning Asia, Europe, and the Americas. As the airline moves forward with its merger with Asiana Airlines, expanding its fleet to nearly 300 aircraft, the growing need for maintenance support presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen its strategic partnership with VAECO in Vietnam.
